Fresh chicken drumsticks should have a clean, mild smell, firm and moist meat, and a natural pink-to-light pink colour. They should be kept properly chilled at 0–4°C from processing until delivery. For the best taste, texture and freshness, cook soon after delivery. If not cooking immediately, refrigerate promptly and use within 1–2 days, or freeze for longer storage. Avoid leaving raw chicken at room temperature for extended periods.
Chicken drumsticks are a good source of high-quality protein, which supports muscle growth and repair. They also provide vitamin B6, vitamin B12, niacin (B3), phosphorus, selenium and zinc.
